“The Importance of Being Earnest" Performance by Capitol Shakespeare at ND Heritage Center & State Museum

The Capitol Shakespeare production “The Importance of Being Earnest" will be performed Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. The performances are free and open to the public. Written by Oscar Wilde and directed by Chad Litton, “The Importance of Being Earnest" is a wildly entertaining comedy set in Victorian England. This “trivial comedy for serious people” features two carefree bachelors, each with a carefully hidden double life. Silliness ensues with whimsical ingénues, jealous fiancées, indomitable dowagers, and the most famous handbag in theater history. This timeless classic sparkles with dazzling wordplay and hilariously unlikely situations. The performances are co-sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota and Capitol Shakespeare.
