Sensational Sundays: "Man the Bank Fell On"

Join us for a free radio play, “Man the Bank Fell On,” by Pat Barnhart. This original play is a fictional account of how there came to be an undated tombstone in the cemetery at Medora inscribed: Man the bank fell on. “While the tombstone is very real, the story is fantasy,” says Barnhart. “The setting in the story is not specifically named as Medora, but it was definitely the template for this fictional town.” The play was originally written for the 2013 Albers Humanities Festival at Dickinson State University. Actors include: Barnhart, playwright; Michael Stevenson, choir and theater director at Dickinson High School; Margaret Barnhart, adjunct professor of literature and language at Dickinson State University (DSU); Don Ehli, adjunct professor of speech and theater at DSU; Doug Ellison, former mayor of Medora; and Jackie Hope, actor, director, and musician. This performance is part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota's Sensational Sundays series. Sensational Sundays are free cultural programs that include a variety of lectures, concerts, movies, and tours.
