“Mighty Mastodon” Program Scheduled at ND Heritage Center & State Museum

Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to “Mighty Mastodon” at 10:30 a.m., Jan. 30, at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. Participants will pretend to be mastodons and make a mastodon craft. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The program is part of “Little Kids, Big World,” a free interactive learning series sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. These fun, hands-on 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history—from dinosaurs through today’s ongoing story. The programs are led by Stephanie Schick, a gallery guide at the ND Heritage Center & State Museum. She is a graduate of Northern Arizona University who previously worked as an educator at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa. Schick, who has a passion for history, science, and education, loves to travel and has taught in schools in Kenya and Egypt.
