The public is invited to Kite Day at Camp Hancock State Historic Site. Staff will assist in making and flying a simple diamond kite that can be taken home. The free workshop is open to all ages, and materials will be provided. Lemonade and cookies will be served. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Camp Hancock is home to the oldest standing building in Bismarck and has the oldest standing church in North Dakota as well as a 1909 locomotive engine on display. Camp Hancock is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Summer hours are Friday through Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Find upcoming State Historical Society events at history.nd.gov/events.
