Auditions for I Hate Hamlet

I HATE HAMLET is a charming, challenging comedy about a working actor, a rotten role, and the ghosts of Hamlets past. We are searching for a variety of actors with great comic timing, bold stage presence and a willingness to work hard and have fun doing it. We will be holding open auditions on Sunday, January 18, 2014 by advance appointment ? call or email for a time (701-258-4998, execdir@dakotastageltd.com) ¬and to receive audition sides a from the show. Monologues and memorization of sides are not expected. Auditioners will read with other actors from the sides presented. Invited call backs will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2014. We will be casting3 adult males and 3 adult females. A full rehearsal calendar will be available for viewing during the auditions. The following roles will be cast: Gary Peter Lefkowitz ? Andrew?s director friend who is constantly trying to hook Andrew up with a job. He is the sort of "do-lunch-and-deals- dope" who has all of his taste in his mouth. John Barrymore ? John Barrymore was acclaimed as the Great Profile, a handsome matinee idol and movie star but also a noted wastrel. He appears as a ghost in the play. Andrew Rally? Andrew Rally, a famous, discontented television actor who finds himself in between contracts at the time of the play. Lillian Troy ? Andrew's agent, the "scum of the earth," - Lillian, who many years ago, had a brief fling with Barrymore in the apartment Andrew is now renting. Felicia Dantine ? Real estate agent Felicia Dantine claims she is able to communicate with departed spirits, and conducts séances. Dierdre McDavey ? Andrew's girlfriend, who is unwilling to have sex with Andrew before they are married. She is very enamored with Barrymore. AUDITIONS ?
